Define the Length of Probation Period

As a default on Grove HR, the probation period is 2 months, but you can configure the general length of probation depending on the policy of your company.

Before starting, make sure you have access to Company Settings. If not, please contact your Admin to request permissions.

  1. Go to Company Setting by clicking on the ⚙️ icon > Probation

  2. Enter the length of the probation period.

    There are 3 options:

    • By Days

      • Example: A 60-day probation period will be counted by actual days, starting from the employee's join date.

        • Samantha joins the company on 3 July 2023 with 60-day probation. Her probation period will start on 3 July 2023 and ends on 1 September 2023.

    • By Months

      • Example: A 2-month probation period will be counted by calendar days, starting from the employee's join date.

        • David joins the company on 3 July 2023 with 2-month probation. His probation period will start on 3 July 2023 and ends on 3 September 2023.

    • By Weeks

      • Example: A 2-week probation period will be counted by week, starting from the employee's join date.

        • Ishana joins the company on 3 July 2023 with 2-week probation. Her probation period will start on 3 July 2023 and ends on 17 July 2023.

  3. Click Save to apply the change

  4. Choose whether the revised probationary period will be applied to all employees or just future recruits.

  5. Click Save again to confirm
