Employee Timezone Setting
Updated over a week ago

Employees will have the same timezone as their office by default. However, for global organizations with talents across the globe, this could cause problems if reminders and notifications are sent out at the wrong time.

Grove HR's new Account Settings feature helps you quickly resolve this problem by allowing customization to employee timezone. Admin can also grant access to employees to edit their own timezone.

Now, email notifications and event displays (birthdays, anniversaries, new members) will follow employee timezone settings with this feature.

Example:

  • Old version: Office Timezone GMT + 8

    • Timezone GMT + 8: Sandra sees 2 people in Anniversary at 0 AM to 11:59 PM October 1

    • Timezone GMT + 6: Michael will see 2 people in Anniversary at 10 PM September 30 to 9:59 PM October 1 (Michael's actual timezone is 2 hours behind)

  • New update: Office Timezone GMT + 8

    • Timezone GMT + 8: Sandra sees 2 people with anniversary at 0 AM to 11:59 PM October 1

    • Timezone GMT + 6: Michael will see 2 people with anniversary at 0 AM to 11:59 PM October 1

To adjust an employee timezone, follow the steps here:

  1. Open an employee profile > Account Settings tab> Account Settings section

  2. Click Edit and select a suitable Timezone

  3. Click Save to apply the change

⛔️ Caution:

📌 NOTE:

  • By default, employees will have permission to edit their own timezone. To change this, please adjust employee's data accessibility in Company Settings > Permissions > Role

  • If the office's timezone is updated, the employee's timezone will remain unchanged

  • All data and events are displayed in the new time zone. Historical data
(including past attendances) will not be converted to the current timezone

  • Emails, notifications, and due dates will be scheduled based on employee's timezone

  • Employee's attendance will be recorded in the new time zone.
